Finished!

Everything is organized! Now it just needs to be cleaned. Luckily, my daughter Carol was looking for a summer job, and I was fortunate enough to be able to hire her as my cleaning lady! That leaves me more time to tat, you know.

I can't believe how much stuff I had crammed into this little room. I found fabric that my mother gave me before she moved to Alabama 15 or 16 years ago. I was on a polar fleece jacket binge about 14 years ago, and I found enough polar fleece for 6 more jackets. I wonder who I thought was going to wear them? I had bags of yarn that I took when my mom offered them... they were just too good to get rid of... I'm going to pass them on to the nursing home. The ladies there were thrilled the last time I "cleaned" out my stash! I have plenty for the new home ec teacher to choose from... 25 bags!

Don't worry... I won't run out of things to do. Each cabinet is still chock-full of fabric and yarn that I just couldn't part with, and I haven't cleaned out the guest bedroom closet, my closet, or my bedroom yet! I guess I'm free to sit down and tat now. I hope I don't fall asleep!

Dave and Jo, see my scrimshaw pieces from my dad next to the doorway? Just thought you might be interested.

  5. Okay, now I REALLY have craft room envy! LOL How much would you charge to fly to Oregon and do that to Dave's studio???

Those scrimshaw pieces of your Dad's are so beautiful! We were also liking the way they are presented too! They look very elegant!

  6. What a nice crafting room! WOw! Lucky you to have such a nice place to store all your stuff and get stuff done. That is one fabulous room. Isn't it just like Christmas when you go through old stuff like that. It's kinda fun finding things you forgot you had or thought you would never see again. Good job on getting it all done, it's no small feat to go through years of collecting.

  7. Thank you everyone! I do have a great feeling of accomplishment... and relief that it's finally over!

Jo, I would love to fly out and organize Dave's studio... you might get tired of me, though! You've only been witness to one week's worth of work... I've been "cleaning" this room for at least 5 years!

  8. You are sooooo organized, so nice and tidy now.
I am so green with envy over your craft room, that is something I would love to have someday.
You really must have collected a lot of various supplies since you can share with a nursing home for the second time. I am sure they really appreciate it.
