I am seriously addicted...

to tatting shuttles! After seeing these beautiful shuttles on kkommy's blog, I asked for the link to the site where she purchased them. Since I'm not fluent in Japanese, I had to rely on Google Translate to get my order placed, but place it I did!

Aren't the colors beautiful?

They're very slightly larger than the Clover shuttles available here, but not enough that it makes any difference.

A word of warning, though... if you decide to pursue these shuttles, check the exchange rate first! You may decide that these little beauties are shuttles you can do without!

  6. Aha, you did better than I did, I couldn't manage to get my name into katakana!
I think I am going to cheat and try and get someone who is going to Japan to find them for me. (My brother works for Sony and often gets sent over there.)

  9. Maybe since you got an order of shuttles if I mail you the money maybe I can talk you in to getting two sets of these shuttles. Once for me to keep and one to send to a friend. Can you help me order them? Please send me an email.

  10. Those are so pretty!!! You're lucky!!! I'm shuttle-envious! LOL

Btw, I just recently placed an order with Dave (GMA) for the flat wooden shuttles (thanks for the contact info)... he's supposed to send me a photo before I send him the money... but I know I'm going to love it!! Can't wait for it to arrive!!!!

I find I'm always out of shuttles as they're filled with thread from a previous task... guess I'm going to have to start making tiny things to use up the thread...oh what a chore LOL

  11. I dug a bit deeper, following your link and I found - drum roll - the international shopping site for this shop!! So I was able to order in English, but all subsequent communication has been in Japanese, and i didn't really believe I had pressed all the right buttons until just now - when the shuttles were delivered!! Less than one week, all the way from Japan, and only A$15 - plus postage, of course.
    Wish I had ordered a few sets - :)

Thank you so much for giving the link.

  12. I got those months ago from my local craft shop when I realized I did not have enough shuttles to make Iris' doilies. The colors are gorgeous and I plan to purchase more.
