May snowflake

May went by so quickly, I nearly forgot to tat my May snowflake for the Snowflake A Month Challenge at The Tatting Forums!

This is "Itsy-Bitsy Snowflake" from A Veritable Tatted Blizzard by Samantha Melnychuk. I put the quarter in the picture so that you can see just how itsy-bitsy this little flake is in size 80 DMC. It's so cute!

The shuttle on the left is one of my favorites from Grizzly Mountain Arts. The paisley shuttle is from Emsyjane. I do love my shuttles!

  1. Sometimes we need tiny snowflakes. That May snowflake would look pretty anywhere. I love your D shuttle from Grizzly Mountain Arts.

  4. That is a delightful little snowflake! And the shuttles are both beautiful - you do have a nice collection of shuttles! My hankie came in the mail and I think I have just the right color of thread for it. Thank you again for being so generous!

  6. Your shuttles are not only functional they are works of art. The "D" shuttle is very beautiful. Your tiny snowflake is adorable. Thank you so very much for the beautiful hanky you so generously sent me. Now I really must learn to tat. Mr. C did buy me the "Learn to Tat" book with CD by Janette Baker however I haven't even viewed it yet. This will be my impetus. Thank you again my dear...

  7. I'm glad your comment 'setup' allows me to comment on your blog (I can't comment on others' blogs which have a different setup). Apparently Blogger is working on the problem.

The tiny snowflake is so cute (pretty thread), and I'm always impressed when tatters use size 80 thread. Your "D" shuttle is simply gorgeous!

Are you out of school yet? My high school had its 'earliest' graduation date that I know of - May 24!!! And the official last day of school for all the kids was the 26th!! Can't believe it's my 50th reunion this year, and 50 years since I marched in my last Memorial Day parade! I'm kind of in shock!
