Never let it be said...

that I limit myself to one project at a time!

I couldn't help myself. I went looking for something... I've forgotten what... I saw the thread holder, shuttle, hanky, and thread all within a few inches of each other, and I knew I just had to start another project!

I purchased the hanky at a discount store when I was visiting Mom in Alabama a while back. The thread holder and shuttle were decorated by me during my Mod Podge binge last year. The thread is size 80 Lizbeth #165, Grape Splash. The pattern is Baby Lace from Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konior.

I sure am enjoying working with the fine threads!

  1. Oooh, it's perfect! I bet this thread feels huge in comparison. I'm almost done with my hankie and then it's all SULKY for me!!! : )

  3. They look so good together! I love your thread holder and shuttle set, they're so pretty! I find size 40 a challenge to tat with, to tat with size 80, that takes a brave, confident, talented soul with MUCH more experience than I. :-) It's looking beautiful! Can't wait to see it's continuing story.

  4. And everything matches - even the shuttle and the container. It is quite satisfying to work with size 80. I have not been tatting a lot but I have used a variety of sizes and I should know.

  6. Just saw this - it is so pretty!

I know what you mean about the fine threads. The thicker stuff will feel like rope when you go back to tatting with it!

  8. Diane, what a great idea to make a thread holder to match your shuttle, your so clever. I look forward to seeing your hanky process and the finished piece.
