Snow day part 2

We had no school again today. Many of the roads were drifted closed, and there was no way for traffic to get through. In fact, our little town made the Chicago news with 50 - 70 cars/semis stranded in snow drifts east of town, about three miles south of us.

We live on a north/south road, so we didn't have as much drifting. However, it was pretty slick. These people slid off the road and into the ditch right by our mailbox. Luckily, they were able to get a tow truck and were on their way in about a half hour.

I did get quite a bit of housework done today, probably because I broke the chores into 15-20 minute segments. As a reward for cleaning, I gave myself plenty of time to tat! So, I was able to finish the third round of my Concentric Rectangles doily. I'm sure we'll be back in school tomorrow, so there won't be much progress made before the weekend.

I do like this pattern, but I think I'll hold off on the tablecloth idea. It will be interesting to see how long it takes me to tat the next two rounds!

  1. It looks fabulous!!! :)
Sounds like we were both alternating between housework and tatting, and both of us seemed to get somethings accomplished!! :)

  2. Two snow days! I'm so envious. Where is the pattern for this doily? I love it!

I hope you have as much fun with this as me!

  3. What a storm that was! Hope the worst is over. I can't believe your mailbox is still intact! Glad no one was hurt. I'm not complaining about our dusting of snow today!

The Concentric Rectangles doily seems to lie very flat - no blocking needed!

  4. There would be a lot of tatting in a tablecloth!

  5. This is beautiful and that is really fantastic about no blocking it looks blocked that is great. Well glad your winter is back even though a little late :)

  6. Looks great with the different colors. Can't wait to see the next ones!

  7. Wow that was quick, your snow day certainly made great progress with the mat, if the snow lays long enough you might get to a tablecloth.

  8. Precioso tapete y la gran nevada invita a tejer.Besos.

  9. So enjoying watching this doily grow and tempted to start one! Myself. The colours you are using are just right. The snow does have some advantages, more tat time!

Just like you, I love getting feedback!
