A walk on the porch

It was too hot to walk in the park today, so I walked on the porch. It wraps around two sides of the house. I have shade. I know where to find water. I don't have to drive to get there. It works for me!

I did slow down my pace a bit. Instead of walking for an hour straight, I walked in 15 minute increments throughout the day. I'm not nearly as exhausted as I was yesterday!

Alenalea posted the final round of her mystery doily today. I wasn't even halfway done with round 6, so I finished that first.

This afternoon, I worked on the final round. Daughter Carol came over for a visit, so I didn't get as far as I thought I would.

To be honest, Carol's visit didn't set me back that much. Daughter Joanne got me hooked on Poldark, and sometimes I get so caught up in watching the scenery, I just stop tatting!

  2. If you have an airconditioned shopping centre near you, you can join a walking group there. They have them here, in all the big centres, people can go and walk in comfort and safety in groups, for about an hour before the shops open.Up and down a few times, and you have covered miles!

    1. Yes, many people use our mall as a walking path. However, it's a good 30 minutes away and walking on those concrete floors is very hard on my hips and knees. My porch is wood, and it's very close! ;-)

  3. I'd sooner walk on my porch than in Maureen's shopping centre, but good for you in any case. I know I should walk more. Love how the doily is looking, that outer row is so pretty.
