Liz Metallic Turquoise Green

My new thread arrived today! I'll start by saying that I'm not a big fan of metallic threads, mainly because they hurt my fingers. This thread is not an exception to the rule as far as that goes. However, it is an incredibly nice metallic thread, and I do plan on tatting many Ice Drops with it!

I decided to start with a basic Ice Drop. I'm not sure if this thread will work well with multiple picots. Time will tell. Yes, I will try tatting one with lots of picots!

I think this thread would be great for those who like to tat earrings. It holds its shape well, and the colors are very rich. I wish I knew how to capture the color with my phone camera!

As I was tatting with Turquoise Green, I kept thinking that it would make a beautiful peacock. 😀

I finished the half of the first panel of my Park Avenue afghan. While working on it, I started thinking about granny squares, and look what happened! Yes, I am multi-tasking again!

  1. Oooh! I'd just spotted the new metallics at Handy Hands, I can't wait til I get the chance to try some. They're not available in the UK yet. And you've picked my favourite colour! Did you find it was smooth enough when closing rings? Some metallics are too "scratchy" and "catchy" which makes it difficult to close rings.

    1. The rings close beautifully! Yes, it is very smooth. It still has a metallic feel, which slows me down, but it is a very nice thread!

  5. The metallic looks lovely in your pictures. I haven't tried it yet. According to the Handy Hands website, the colors can bleed. Keep us posted on how your Ice Drops hold up!
