I stop tatting briefly because of my growing number of mistakes and retro-tatting. Your dodads posts keep me entertained so much right now that I might have to pick up my shuttles again.Imoshenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09298551758523722792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8857704024517273961.post-36830834469029742752012-09-03T19:14:40.602-05:002012-09-03T19:14:40.602-05:00That is so beautiful!! :)That is so beautiful!! :)God's Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14235608410243857253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8857704024517273961.post-86416317797682130622012-09-03T17:51:16.765-05:002012-09-03T17:51:16.765-05:00Diane - you need to make a thread TRAIN!! I will not cut thread, especially if shuttles are CTM.
You must take all of your dining room chairs - I have 10- -and arrange them at intervals down your hallway, or around the room. Position your captive audience at one end, and then unwind your shuttle, over the backs of the chairs, so that the thread doesn't tangle up.
The person-who-is-helping-if-he wants-a-peaceful-life-again will gently feed the thread through to you for the next unpicking.

Yes, it takes time, but much less time than fighting to open a jammed ring. And it works.

10 chairs will unwind a pretty full shuttle wound with size 40; you may need fewer, or perhaps more, if you're using 80.Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02383223698959645624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8857704024517273961.post-65087145060896846482012-09-03T17:14:26.329-05:002012-09-03T17:14:26.329-05:00I also have been stubborn about getting knots out ...I also have been stubborn about getting knots out and rings untatted, muttering all the while that I could have done the entire piece over, as the clock ticks by!
