I don't know if it keeps the thread cleaner, but it does keep it neater. My friend Denise started using the netting a year or so ago, because her thread kept getting tangled when she traveled. I purchased the netting online, and I've been cutting it in 4" lengths to keep my threads under control.<br /><br />I'm totally with you. I'll sew from scratch any day. The only reason I'm doing alterations is to help my daughter.
