My hands were too cold to tat yesterday, but I did do some catching up today. I'm now half way through round 12 of Renulek's Spring Doily 2026.
I also managed to bind two of my patriotic blocks. I'm not especially happy with the way the first one turned out, but the second turned out much better. Since I've decided to hand stitch the second side of the binding, it took me about an hour and a half to complete each block.
My plan is to bind all of the blocks before deciding on the final layout. I hope to get a bit faster as I continue with these. I am having fun!

Binding isn’t an easy job. That will keep you busy for a while.
ReplyDeleteIf I finish this quilt by June, I will be extremely happy!
DeleteLove the blue here! Your blocks are all so neatly sewn!
ReplyDeleteThank you! My color choices may seem a bit bizarre, but I'm doing my best to work with threads I have in my stash.
DeleteI have never heard of binding the blocks before putting them together for a quilt. Do you always do it this way?
ReplyDeleteThis is my first attempt. After some research, I've learned that this technique was actually used in the 1800s. I hope it works well. I have a lot of fabric I could use up!
