Snowflake #4
I figured out what I did wrong the first time I tatted this snowflake by tatting a different one. For some reason, I tatted the Josephine knot as a chain! What was I thinking?
I really like the way this one turned out. This is "Kaleidoscope" from A Veritable Tatted Blizzard by Samantha Melnychuk. The thread is one of my favorite color combos... Jimmi Hendrix, size 20 HDT from Sherry Pence (LadyShuttleMaker). The finished snowflake is about 2 3/4" across.
I've been trying to use up bits of leftover HDT from previous projects. I've found that one 50 yard skein has been enough to tat a Spinning Wheel glass mat and a snowflake. What a fun way to use HDT!
This is my favorite snowflake so far!
ReplyDeleteWOW, I love it! That is one unique pattern. I guess I will have to buy her book after all. Nice job, Diane.
ReplyDeleteNice Josephine knots!
ReplyDeleteYou tatted the josephine knot as a chain? So does that mean you did little teeny tiny SCMR's? Well, whatever you did it turned out very nice! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snowflake. I really like the HDT.
ReplyDeleteHi Diane! Lovely snowflake! I've been following your blog for quite awhile now and have wanted to compliment you on all your amazing tatting and also on your incredible energy! You work full time, with very energetic kids - and somehow you find time to do all this tatting and posting! My hat is off to you!
ReplyDeleteIt was a super treat to hear from you on my blogpost about the paperweights! You'll be interested in my future post about wrist injuries (been there!). I am very impressed with your comeback!
Your mom is quite a gal, too! How delightful that you share so many of the same interests!
Wow, it is sooo pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe snowflake is gorgeous! I think this is the first time I've seen "Jimmy Hendrix" tatted and I like it a lot. Now I want some!
