I blame the music!

When I was visiting Eileen at the beginning of the week, I realized that we had the same t.v. service and that she was listening to satellite radio on her t.v. Music! We live in a rural area about 50 miles south of Chicago... just far enough that we don't get good radio reception in the house. I love listening to music, but I tend to forget to switch CDs when they're finished playing. Anyway, yesterday I searched and found a satellite station that plays 60s music... the stuff that was playing when I was in junior high and high school.

After Dave left for work, I put on the 60s station and went to work on this little red bookworm. I've learned several lessons from this experience: 1) it's hard to sing soulfully, with your eyes closed, and work on bobbin lace at the same time; 2) it's not a good idea to suddenly jump up and start dancing when working with bobbin lace; 3) it's nearly impossible to read directions while bouncing up and down to the beat of the music. As mentioned in the title of this post, I blame the music for all the mistakes in this little bookworm. I think I'll have to choose something more mellow when I get into more complicated lace projects! : )

P.S. - Please do not get the idea that I can either sing or dance! If my daughters are reading this post, they are laughing hysterically!

  1. Well in that case when you form a singing/dancing group may I join? Ah, one problem apart from not being able to sing or dance - I can't stand music either!!!

  6. I love Sirius XM! So many great channels and I can take it anywhere with me. The bobbin lace bookworm looks like a lot of fun even if he is a little crooked! ;)

  7. All of your bookworms are so beautiful! We have that service too! I'm so glad to find out I'm not the only person that cranks up the "oldies". I had to wince the other day--I had the 70's channel on and the DJ called it an "golden oldies" channel! LOL
