Tatting more bookmarks...

and another Spinning Wheel!

My time this week was spent tatting up my skein of Jungle Flower from Sherry Pence aka LadyShuttleMaker. As you can see, I was able to make two Stumpy bookmarks by Kersti Anear after finishing the Spinning Wheel glass mat from Tatting With Visual Patterns by Mary Konior.

I love my two flat tatting shuttles from Grizzly Mountain Arts. As I've mentioned before, I like to use these two shuttles because I can wind my whole skein of HDT and not have to join threads. It's not that I can't... I just prefer not to!

I was hoping to get a lot of tatting and bobbin lace practice in this summer, but I think my time will be limited. I signed up to take three graduate courses, and if possible, I'd like to finish them over the summer. I have until March to complete them, but I really hate to procrastinate. ; )

  1. I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see the Spinning wheel appearing again, LOL. But believe me, I am not tired of looking at them, especially with each new shade of thread that you used for it. Your tatting is always wonderful to see.

  2. I am thrilled to look at all your Spinning Wheels..... I really like the pattern... and this thread.

I am in awe: you finish them so quickly!

Those shuttles are neat. Is that a tickle of avarice I feel creeping up my spine??? : ))

  4. So, I think it's time you figured out a way to start connecting the spinning wheels into some sort of geometric pattern, you'd have a tablecloth in short order I'm sure :-)

  5. interesting look with this thread, you don't see the design quite as much, you see the colors of this thread more. gives the Spinning Wheel a different look.

  6. Very nice Diane Spinning Wheel and Stumpy-s. I like the idea of getting a whole skein of HDT wound onto 2 shuttles. Makes me think I may need to try that kind.

I always enjoy seeing what your up to. Thank you for sharing.

  9. Very nice color of HDT!

What do you do with all the Spinning Wheels you have been tatting?

  10. Hi Diane !

Always enjoy seeing the 'Wheels' in all the HDTs. I'm amazed how the colors repeat. You've almost convinced me the pattern is 'quick' to tat.

We'll see how 'little' tatting you do this summer! With a full time job and family activities you've managed somehow to find time to do lots of tatting and posting - sometimes several posts in one day! Not to mention also doing weaving and bobbin lacing! Most impressive! It's difficult keeping up with you! Where in the world do you get all that energy? Please send some my way! :)

P.S. Thanks for visiting my blog. Interesting story about your relative! Lots of 'true' inventors get lost to history! Have a nice holiday!

  11. Diane you tempt me with the spinning wheel... and I love that technique of winding a whole skein, the color you've uses this time too is very pretty but I guess Spinning wheel should be a very good pattern to work on and the HDT just shows how much you enjoy working on it.
