Too white?

I started tatting Mary Konior's "Clover" from Tatting with Visual Patterns. I like the pattern and the thread (Olympus Special No. 40), but I'm not sure if this is right for the hanky. I have plenty of hanky blanks, so I know I'll use the edging for one of them. I'm also planning on trying some pink, blue, and green threads to see which one I like best.

In the meantime, I decided to tat a cross bookmark.

This is "Camilla" from Tatted Bookmarks - cross-shaped by Lene Bjorn. The thread is size 40 Lizbeth Caribbean, one of my favorites! It's funny, I've avoided tatting this cross before, because I thought it was composed of split rings. I'm so glad I tried it. This is one of the easiest cross bookmarks I've ever tatted, and one of the prettiest!

  1. I think that choosing colors is the hardest thing! The white looks very nice, but I would love to see what the other colors look like too.

  2. Hmm, that hanky has some bright white on it but I think maybe something else...

  3. I like the pattern, and I can see it in bright pink - with pink or very light blue beads!

  5. I do like the white but a soft blue would look interesting too.

  7. I love the cross! I'm eagerly awaiting my order of thread, and carribean is one of the colours!
I think the white would look lacy and pick up the bright tone in the hanky. Perhaps adding some beads in one of the colours would bring some focus to the pattern without adding too much colour?

  8. Creo que el paƱuelo tiene ya mucho color, asi que el blanco en la puntilla lo hace perfecto
