Isn't it pretty? Bri graciously allowed me to test tat her pattern, and I love it! I chose to follow her suggestions and tat the first one with two colors. It really does help me to see how the design flows. I used size 20 Lizbeth, color #621 and 103. It measures 5 3/4" from picot tip to picot tip. The best thing about this pattern... it's a diagram! I find diagrams so much easier to follow than written instructions.
Thanks for the opportunity, Bri!
What color should I try it in next? Maybe blue! ; )
Popping in to see your test tat after visiting Tat-ology and seeing Fox's. You both have done such a splendid job testing!
ReplyDeleteNot sure why I haven't considered this while viewing Bri's or Fox's, but have you considered potential for celtic tatting between rows two and three? I think there might be potential for something there, if Bri is at all interested in fiddling with this lovely design some more. (I know that after awhile I get sick to death of a design I am working on.)
Anyway! Pretty, pretty tatting!
Wow! Bri has a lovely design there and I like your choice of colors for it.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing Fox's lovely colours and pattern yours is just as beautiful, you both have done a lovely job on the pattern.
ReplyDeletewell done
Margaret
Love Bri's design! Blue would be a wonderful choice :)
ReplyDeleteDeinitely blue. This is gorgeous. Happy tatting...
ReplyDeleteFox's was yellow and green - very cheery, smiling sort of combination. And your's is pink and green - softer and more soothing. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an attractive motif, and all the 'test tatters' are doing a nice job with Bri's pattern! It definitely has possibilities! I'm sure you'll have the blue one tatted soon!
ReplyDeleteWe both share a preference for diagrams! I loved Rebecca Jones book (going back to 1985) for her diagrams as well as all her tatting knowledge. She was a 'pioneer' in diagramming (and credits the Japanese and Europeans). Then Mary Konior apparently insisted that her Visual Patters book show the diagrams in two colors! That was definitely groundbreaking! Now with our computers we can use many colors! These are wonderful improvements to tatting.
Hi Diane, Gina and Fox and You have done a great job. Until your tatting I thought it is a small motif, but seeing yours, it looks quite large.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it depends on what size is your Mac:-)
Wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteBri's pattern is lovely, and I do like your color choice, so delicate. I does show the elements nicely.
ReplyDeleteI love this small doily i have seen in on the different blogs and think it is great!!!
ReplyDeleteDiane, you did a fantastic job, I just love the colors you chose.
ReplyDeleteLooks so lovely & delicate Diane & would look beautiful tatted in blue or blue & white.
