Adiratna

I suddenly have the urge to tat snowflakes! I think I'm going to try and work my way through Jon's wonderful book, Elegant Tatting Gems. I've already tatted over half the patterns, but I don't believe it's possible to have too many beautiful snowflakes!

This is the first pattern in the book, Adiratna. I used size 20 Lizbeth, color #130. I know it's not a traditional snowflake color, but white seemed so boring! : )

  1. I know what you mean, I have been doing a lot of snowflakes, I am fed up with white and now doing some new threads I brought just to tat some colour.

  2. absolutely nothing wrong with colored snowflakes, when the sun hits the snow crystals the show rainbows of color anyway.

  3. Still haven't learned how to tat unfortunately but I've been on a roll with crocheted snowflakes. I'll have to try some in different colours too :)

  4. Adiratna in color #130 (Island Breeze) looks so inviting it makes me dream of cruising the Caribbean. Well done!

  5. Just because it's called a snowflake pattern doesn't mean you have to make snowflakes with it! In that thread it looks like a stained glass rose window to me.
