Perfect!

I finished my edging last night, and it is the perfect length!

My plan is to lay the tatting on top of the fabric. I know that the edging blends in with the fabric, but that's the look I want for this piece. I want a detail that isn't obvious. I want my friends to look at my purse and admire it, and then suddenly discover that there is tatting.

I have enough fabric to make another purse, and I think I'll make that one with a solid color so that the tatting is a bit more obvious.

All in all, I'm very pleased with what I've done so far. Now, where did I put those zippers?

  1. It looks as though the thread and the fabric were made to go together. I love it when that happens!

  6. I wanted to let the tatting blend in my own bag too. Then thought, since the bag is intended for my partner in the friendship bag exchange decided to let the tatting pop.

Last night, I have started on an edging from the book Rita Weiss edited (which I have used a lot last year).

  14. Your tatting looks great. I love the colors and it blends in nicely with the bag. I also like to have the tatting almost blend in sometimes, as it give a special "pop" to the look when it is noticed.
