I just finished an excellent book, The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. My daughter Andrea received it for Christmas and let me borrow it. The story starts with a mystery... why was a four-year-old girl left alone on a ship headed to Australia? In the end, the secret is unraveled by her granddaughter. The twists and turns in the plot make for a very intriguing read!
Sounds like another one for my ever-growing list! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI have also read the book and agree it is very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI just started reading The House at Riverton by Kate Morton. I enjoy the way she writes.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good book and yes take up your knitting needles!
ReplyDeleteCould not remember the name of Kate Morton's other book, thanks Lelia, that is also a brilliant read.
ReplyDeleteI'm a total Kate Morton junkie. Her turn of phrase is completely captivating: "Reluctance to begin befriends procrastination" (The House at Riverton). I ripped through all three novels in quick succession. Can't wait for the next one!
ReplyDeleteI will have to look this one up for my kindle. Thanks Diane, it sounds interesting.
