The play... West Side Story!
Some walked through steps, some practiced lines, some just spent time talking with friends.
One more run-through was needed for one of the dances... at the kids' request! It was kind of funny to see them going through their stretches on the gym floor.
The kids went through the dance, singing softly. One run-through was all they needed!
While the kids were going through their vocal warm-ups in the music room, I shot this picture of the empty stage, curtains closed. It's so exciting to hear the sounds of the audience from behind the curtain!
Today was the final performance, and the kids posed on stage so that family and friends could take pictures. It was a fabulous weekend, and the kids did a marvelous job of performing!
I did manage to get a little tatting time in between performances and various duties. I finished Round 4 of Doily VI from Tatted Treasures by Jan Stawasz. It's now 8 1/2" from point to point, and I really love the pattern!
I think I'll be ready for bed early tonight. I don't think the time change will affect me at all!
That's very pretty
ReplyDeleteGorgeous doily!! :)
ReplyDeleteHow in the world did you get any tatting done? Your doily is really nice - I keep looking at the pattern, but that's as far as I get :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like the play went well - such fun!
Sounds like you had a great time recording their run up to the performance in pictures, I am sure the kids will love to see your pictures.
ReplyDeleteYour doily looks beautiful, his book is on my wish list at the moment, is it finished or is there more to tat.
Margaret
Glad the play went so well! Your doily is looking fab. Can't wait to see the next bit.
ReplyDeleteWhat memories you have stirred...my 1 performance in grade 9 - with a single line "Oh Mr Smithers!" from The Sentimental Bloke was a lot of fun! Love the doily too...but I will only be wedding tatting for a while...Colin finally proposed and we are getting married in September :)
