We had our Tollway Tatters meeting today, and it was fabulous!
Sue was waiting patiently when I arrived. I was lucky to be able to see her gorgeous sun catcher before everyone else arrived. This picture just doesn't do it justice. It is unbelievably beautiful!
Sue spent the day tatting around cabone rings, based on a pattern by Jon Yusoff. She makes it look so easy!
Sue Anna and I had a dueling iPhones thing going on. She won... I put my iPhone down!
Sue Anna spent her time working on Mary Konior's Spinning Wheel glass mat in size 3 Lizbeth. We're all waiting to see how large it will be in size 3!
Marilee spent a lot of time teaching today.
In fact, Jean finished her first chain!
Carol helped our newest member, Carrie, feel welcome. Carrie has only been tatting since December.
December?! Yes, December! Look at how beautiful her tatting is!
And there were goodies...
Marilee brought pretty gift bags filled with...
sticky notes, beautiful hand-dyed thread, and chocolate! No picture of the chocolate... I ate it!
Sue Anna shared some thread.
Carol brought some wonderful little boxes that lock closed, and Sue shared some pretty little findings from Hobby Lobby. Did you notice that I chose blue? ;-)
Barb made these adorable little snap close bags. Don't you just love the tatting shuttle embroidered on it?
We had a wonderful day, and we're hoping to get together again in June. I wish everyone in Tatland could join us!

It really was a lovely day! I had loads of fun visiting and seeing all the tatting and goodies. Thank you for the sparkly box and pretty shuttle!
ReplyDeleteI had such a wonderful time. Between the goodies and the knowledge you shared...I was overwhelmed by the generosity. My daughter fixed on the sparkly box and it is now sitting on her dresser (as I knew it would). Thank you all again and I can't wait to see you next time!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a lovely day, I wish I could be with you but there's this great big pond between us. Must be lovely to be able to meet up and enjoy sharing tatting ideas.

The boxes look like the 'Really Useful Boxes' we get over here. They live up to their names too but beware of overloading them as the clips work loose. That can be cured by winding gaffer tape round the handles, though!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny the duelling match with Sue Anna. Next time you must win!!! The tatting is gorgeous. Love Sue's sun catcher. Very pretty. In fact lots of pretty tatting.
Looks like a great day!
ReplyDeleteLooked like everyone had a fab day. Such a shame there is a big pond in between us.
ReplyDeleteLuv Jane xx
Great to see so many people and their beautiful tatting. Have not heard from Sue Ann in a long time so good to see her. What fun....
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great time! Wish there was a tatting group near me..........
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone had such a wonderful time! Love getting together with tatting friends - love hearing about everyone else's get-togethers, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tatting and great fun - what else could anyone ask for!
ReplyDeleteSure wish all of you lived lived closer. Maybe someday I'll get to attend one of your meetings. Until then, I'll keep reading about them and seeing all the wonderful items you are working on.
I have been thinking about starting a group here so we can have fun too.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! You all don't know just how wonderful it was for me to be there!!! I have so many things going on right now that Tollway Tatters was like a mini vacation!!! I didn't think about anything but the good friends and tatting the whole time I was there!! Thank you all for the wonderful gifts and friendship!! Can't wait to join you again, but I might have to wait till July due to being extremely busy in June. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd prayerfully Cheryl will be able to come again!!! :)
*le sigh* Every time I read one of these posts about a tatting meet (a tatting bee?) I get so wistful to join you all at one. Alas, I live SO far it is not practical. But I still dream of it with each marvelous post. Keep them coming, please!
ReplyDeleteI had a marvelous time. I have the lovely sparklie box at the feet of Hello Kitty plush. (so girlie)
ReplyDeleteWith the nice breeze tonight, planning to get the sewing machine out. Will tat again tomorrow.
