I chose...

Labor no. 10 from Frivolite 1 Creaciones Artime as my next project!

Round 1

Round 2
I'm using size 20 Lizbeth Twirlz, Winter Ice. I'm still trying to decide if I like this thread. I love the look of it on the ball, but I haven't decided if I like the way it looks when tatted. Have you tried it yet? What do you think of it?

I think the kids have been really inspired by all the wonderful tatted goodies that have been sent for them.

Paige has tatted two super long chains, one over eight feet long!

Shelby has been going to town with chains also. Isn't it funny how a simple reward can be so motivating?

  1. That thread looks very nice in those motifs!! :)
Maybe paired with a solid would help you to like it more. :)
Wow!! Those kids are "going to town" tatting!!! :)

  2. I have not used the thread yet and was wondering if I would like it tatted up. It looks really pretty in the pictures of your doily! Love seeing what the kids are doing!!

  3. I didn't even know there IS a new thread! Looks good in your photos. I'm now going over to HH to read about it!

I would think tatting rings would come pretty easily now since they have mastered the chain, and they are proving they have the patience to do these repetitive movements! When a pattern calls for a long chain, it will be easy for them!

  4. I've purchased some of the Twirlz threads but haven't tried them yet. I do have plans for some of the colors. I think you definitely have to have some specific thing in mind for that type of look; I'm thinking of tatting a cat with one of them, and I'm hoping it will come out looking tabby-ish.

I think those kids are ready for rings!

  5. I love the look of this blue - on the screen it's looking like a really deep sky-blue.

  6. Lovely little mofit, I have not tried this thread yet but it looks lovely
When I get back into fully use of the hand and tatting although you will see a little bit I did yesterday scheduled for st Patricks day, I have to go away for a few days for my hospital appointment re my eye, I will send the kids some tatting pieces for the kids, they are doing a great job learning.

  7. A very pretty colour! Could you please tell me how Twirlz differs from the other Lizbeth threads? Many thanks.

  10. I've decided that I like the twirlz colors when they look like hand wound thread in a single colorway...so the blaze, midnight mist, and the pink, purple, blue & green (401-404). I don't like the patriotic, bumble bee, or monarch particularly because they look muddy. I've done a few things with the other colors, and it is nice to be able to use the faster tatting joins (rather than a larks head) with the multicolored thread.
