The middle school production of Bugsy Malone is next weekend, and daughter Carol has needed my help with supervision of her 45 member cast. It's been a long time since I've been this busy and let me tell you, it is wearing me out! I guess I'm not as young as I used to be! ;-)
Because of the long hours at school, I only have 12 pattern repeats on round 17, so I guess my goal of two weeks for this round is not going to happen. That's okay. It's just a goal!
The upside of this week was that I was able to knit quite a bit on my new scarf, Askin from Sequence Knitting. Knitting while sitting in the wings and supervising children is much easier than tatting, especially with dim light! The yarn is Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal in Stormy. I do like the subtle variations of color in these yarns!
Mom called the other night to let me know that she will be moving in to her new apartment on Monday. I tried to do too many things at once while talking to her and dropped my computer. I just noticed the ding this morning. In all my years of owning a computer, this is the first time I've dropped and damaged one! Luckily, the ding doesn't affect the operation of the computer. There are two nice little dents in the wood floor as well. I'm happy to say that Dave was the first one to gouge our beautiful wood floors, so my feeling of guilt is minimal! ;-)

You're lucky your ding didn't affect the computer. So pleased to read that. You'll easily get the doily done before the TIAS. Easily.
ReplyDeleteThat's a big cast! I think the floor is probably easier to sort out than the computer so I'm glad it's still working.
ReplyDeleteGoals are Meant to be shifted ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying & admiring all the scarfs you've made from this book - it really does have some great patterns/effects !
Hide the dING with some tattING :-D
Still great progress on your doily!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd another fabulous looking scarf!!! :)
Glad your computer still works!! :)
I can see why you'd knit instead of tat while that distracted, especially on this beautiful - and large - doily. I'm glad neither the computer or the floor was damaged too badly :-) I bet the play is a lot of fun. Bugsy Malone, the movie, came up in conversation in a family get-together just recently. I'm trying to imagine what is being used for the 'splurge guns', in the movie it was quite messy! I'll bet everyone is have a lot of fun with this production. I hope it goes well.
ReplyDeleteThe kids are sing silly string guns... still quite messy, but loads of fun!
DeleteYou get lot done and I think the saying goes "Ask a busy person to help you and it will get done" The play sounds very cute and I can see where they are having fun :)
ReplyDeletelovely doily. good to know the computer is working. very interesting post.
ReplyDeleteGlad your computer is still working, The mat is looking lovely as the round is growing.
ReplyDeleteDon't over do it, there's only so many hours in the day
Margaret
OOOh, you are very lucky! The only time I dropped a laptop, I cracked the screen and had to replace the computer - the repair cost more than a new one! I had only had the thing for three days!!!
