While browsing the Internet for hanky edging ideas, I found a pattern for a Concentric Rectangles doily.
This is the center of the doily. Once the pattern is memorized, the doily can be any size you like! Maybe I should attempt a tatted tablecloth for my dining room table. ;-)
Wonderful!! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you would make a tablecloth, I am sure it would go much quicker than mine!!!! :)
Love that pattern - has been on my to-tat list .
ReplyDeleteYour lace is looking very nice !
It could also stand alone as a bookmark. I'd love to see a tatted tablecloth!
ReplyDeleteI thought it would make a great bookmark, too! However, I knew that if I used this as a bookmark, I'd never get back to the doily! I have a feeling there will be some bookmarks in the future!
DeletePretty! I've nev r been able to decide if a large piece show be easily learned and therefore repetitive (dull?) but easy or more challenging but then interesting. You've made the monster doily, what do you think?
ReplyDeleteThe monster doily kept my interest because each row was different, and I was able to break each round into small segments. So, although each progressive round took more time, I really didn't lose interest.
DeleteThere's something to be said about a repetitive pattern. Not having to pay attention to a pattern lets me do things like watch t.v. or listen to music without messing up too much!
Lovely pattern, would it become too boring if you tatted something large with it?
ReplyDeleteMargaret
Now this is different! I'll be curious to see how big you go with this doily!
ReplyDeleteI'll probably stick with the five rounds shown in the picture... at least for now! ;-)
DeleteLovely! Stay warm .... snowing a lot, here
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how much snow we actually got. The news said 4", but with all the blowing and drifting it's hard to tell. The road in front of our house is awful!
DeleteI love that Diane! A rectangle doily... perfect. Thank you for the link.
ReplyDeleteI thought you might like this one!
