Under the sea!

Daughter Joanne agreed to model for me. I love the way this mermaid tail afghan turned out! It will be available for raffle/auction at The Little Mermaid at the end of this month. I'm hoping to have a third one finished, but I'm not sure I'll be able to make that happen.

Sophia wanted to join Joanne and me in crocheting, so I found a ball of yarn and a crochet hook. She played with them for quite a while. I'm sure she'll join us on "the dark side" as she grows older.

  1. To hi am the first to leave a comment, gosh I was so behind and now I am ahead of everyone.
Beautiful mermaid tail, I am sure you will have a good go at making a third,
Another crafter in the making, at least in your family crochet won't die out.

  2. It looks very cosy - but I can't help thinking about the inevitable mayhem if the wearer should have to get up to answer the phone! ( my phone still plugs into the wall.....)

    1. Haha! Luckily, this pattern just has a pocket for your feet for the last 10-12 rows. The rest of it is open like a normal afghan, just tucked in for the coziness factor!

Love how the cute grandkids are getting inspired by their doting grandmas to take up thread craft.

  5. What a fun afghan! For the raffle are you going to have a picture of it in use so they know how cute it is? Here's to plenty of time to get another one done!
Sophia is so cute with her hook and yarn! Getting her hooked early on thread.

  6. That's a great afgain I like the pocket thing you designed. I guess it not hard to find a model willing to pose, afraid she will keep it, but that raffle I guess will help :) love grandma's influence of fiber arts these children will know the value of good thread, great family you have :)
