Color explosion!

Island Breeze is quickly becoming one of my favorite colors!

Although it's been in my stash for a while, I think this is the first time I've used it. I can see so many possibilities for accent colors!

Adding sequins and a different colored ribbon give the thread a totally different look.

No I need to find a way to add the sequins so that they don't flop all over the place! Have any of you tatted with sequins?

  4. Lovely burst of colour !!!
okay, I'm letting out the mystery - one of the snowflakes I've tatted has sequins ;-P One sequin per ring and it does not flop.
Trick is to add the sequin later by pulling the picot loop through the sequin hole & snugging as neatly as possible, yet not too very tight. It stays in place. I did it to cover the ring, but I'm sure it will work with the position you have chosen.

  7. I have tatted with sequins (unicorn) and I add them like Muskaan explains; putting a picot through the hole and snuggle back into the core thread. I do like the floppy effect too as it gives it more sparkle.

    1. Thanks, Bernice! By the time I read Muskaan's comment, I had already tried the idea and liked it. I'm so grateful for tatting friends who chime in when they know what to do! Now I feel like I made the right choice! Floppy is okay, just not what I was going for.

    1. I never thought I would try sequins, Margaret. I love the glitter and glitz they add, but I've always thought them too fiddly to work with. Of course, I've felt the same way about beads, and I've started using them!
