Meeting up with tatting friends

Surprise! I’m in Minnesota! I’m up to babysit granddaughters Lily and Ella while their parents attend a football game. Being able to spend more time with my grandchildren is one of the joys of retirement!

It just so happened that there was a craft show this weekend, and it was only about 40 minutes from my daughter’s house. I’m used to 40 minute drives for regular shopping trips, so this was a piece of cake! Also, GPS makes it possible for me to wander off in directions I’ve never explored!

The craft show was great fun, and Lily, Ella, and I were able to find some wonderful Christmas presents. The best part of attending the show was meeting up with tatting friends! From left to right: Theresa, me, Marlene, and Michelle. I’ve known Theresa and Michelle for several years. The first time we met was in a Chinese restaurant. Cindy (A Happy Bluebird) was there, too. I still have my Twin City Tatters card n my wallet. I love that I am an honorary member!

This past summer, I found out that Marlene follows my blog! We have connected a few times via email, and Marlene had contacted me this past week to let me know about the craft show. I’m so glad it worked out for me to meet up with everyone!

Have you seen that Edda Guastalla has a new tutorial out? It’s fabulous! In it, Edda shows how to encase stones of different shapes. I can hardly wait to get home and try it out! I’ll try and remember to share the link to Edda’s Etsy shop when I get home. I’m working on my iPad, and since I don’t normally blog from my iPad, I haven’t figured out how to do everything that comes to me so naturally when using the computer.

The girls and I will be heading over to daughter Joanne’s to watch the football game. I wonder if we’ll catch a glimpse of Jake and Andrea in the crowd? 😉
