Chicken!

I decided I needed to get on board with Dave's new found interest in chickens. I like eggs and I like to eat chicken, I'm just not thrilled with the idea of taking care of the little critters. However, I know my help will be needed, so I bought a pair of Sloggers decorated with chickens. I figure I need something that can be washed off on a regular basis. I think they're pretty cute!

I've been leaving thread on my shuttles so that I know which ones I've actually used. Since I had lots of thread left on these two shuttles, I decided to make a two-tone Ice Drop. It doesn't show in the picture, but the glass gem has a bit of iridescence that picks up the pinks in the thread.

I worked on the curtains for the treehouse today. The valance is finished and I have the sides finished for each of the five panels. My iron started sticking to the fabric, so I decided it was time for a good cleaning. It was gunkier than I thought, so it took a while to get it nice and clean. Now I'm ready to work on the curtains again tomorrow!

It's going to take a while to tat round 11 of Renulek's Wiosna 2018. I don't have the pattern repeat memorized yet, but I'm sure I'll have it soon. I think it will be really pretty when it's done!

  3. Lovely Ice Drop, and shuttle!
I LOVE your chicken boots! I've been looking for something like this; not necessarily chickens but you know, fun boots I could wear when it rains when I walk my dog. All I could find was dull and regular-shoes-like narrow boots (I have wide feet) or the traditional farmers' boots... as much as I like visiting farms, I live in town so it would be odd, wouldn't it? So basically, I wear my trainers and my feet get wet :/

    1. Always best to know what you're looking for, right. I searched Sloggers and found some available here. I didn't know that brand before, so thank you for the tip :)))

  4. So, at the costume contest at Tat Days, are you going as a chicken? Cute shoes.
I am still on round 10 of the Spring napkin. I was wondering about 11. Looks like a challenge.

    1. Haha! If only I could! I'll have to skip Tat Days this year. I am saving up so that I can attend in 2019, though.

Round 11 really isn't bad. I just haven't developed a rhythm for it yet. I will!

  6. I never know what your posts will show next!
I think I'd be intimidated working with chickens! Reminds me of Lucy and her chickens in the Connecticut house running all over the place!

Your home is truly a fun adventure for the kids. Amusing story about the curtains!

I can't keep track of all your projects. The new knitting spool works great, the afghan is gorgeous and you're off to a great start on the next one.

Oh, yes, the new round of the doily looks like a lot of work, but I like the color!
