I spent today doodling with thread. I was trying to come up with a tatted spool pin doily. I did not succeed... yet!
I do like all of the doodles I created today, and I've learned a lot about trying to tat a design without a pattern. Although I like these doodles, I'm not happy with them. I had to steam press each one in to submission, not ideal in my opinion.
I will keep on doodling. I hope to come up with a design that I really like!
Those are very pretty even if you had to press them. I'm sure a little stitch number adjustment will help them lie flat from the start. Have fun doodling!
ReplyDeleteGood work. Yes, doodling is a necessary part of the process.
ReplyDeleteFabulous designs!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe using a size 3 thread will help. I am thinking it might be closer to the yarn size and if you do a more closed instead of open design it might work. Just a thought.
Can see the beginnings of two ice drop designs in a couple of the doodles.
ReplyDeleteThey all look fine to me!
ReplyDeleteVery creative doodles !!
ReplyDeleteI can't quite remember who sells tatted spool mats - one of the many blogs I follow.
