Happy New Year!

Dave and I stayed up way past our bed time last night... all the way to 10:10! Needless to say, we wished each other a Happy New Year this morning.

It was important to start the day off right, so I tatted an Ice Drop! This is another doodle with an extra round of chains and thrown off rings. I really like the way this one turned out. Could it be that I'm inspired by beautiful shuttles? These are by Rita Richmond of Shuttle by Design.

I've had this sweater for years, and it's one of my favorites. I spilled coffee on it yesterday, so I washed and dried it. There were some pulls that I should have taken care of a long time ago. So, I took care of them this morning, and now my sweater is ready for the cold weather... if it ever arrives!

The day was spent pretty much in leisure. We took down a few Christmas decorations, and when I say we I mean Dave. We had so much up that the house still looks very festive!

  2. Happy 2019! I got my Ice Drop Addicts shuttle yesterday - just in time to make some more. Now I just need to dedicate some time to tatting all the things on my list - and sewing all those bright ideas I have been storing. Where do you buy your time? 😊🎉

    1. Aren't the shuttles adorable? Rita always does such a nice job. As for time... I mainly cook dishes that don't require looking at recipes and can be made in about 20 minutes. I do just enough cleaning to keep us healthy and leave the messed up enough that it shows we're happy. I tat when the t.v. is on. If I don't, I fall asleep! Another biggies is that Dave and I hardly ever go anywhere, leaving lots of time to tat!

    1. Oh, it is, Jane! I can only wear it when it's very cold. There are so many things I want to tat, but you know how it is... something catches your eye and gets your imagination going, and then all good intentions are out the window. I think that's why tatting never bores me!

    1. Happy New Year to you! My goal this year is to work with pattern books I have read but have not used. I know I won't have time to tat from each book, but I'm going to see what I can accomplish!

    1. Thank you, Margaret! I think the extra round makes it much more special. The next week is supposed to be very mild. If this weather keeps up, I'll miss out on wearing a lot of my cozy sweaters!
