Starting again

I wore my Sanditon shawl to school yesterday, and since I had so many compliments I decided to start another. This Yarn Bee 44th Street in silvery grey seemed the perfect fit!

The suggested needle size is 5, but I tend to knit loosely. I tried size 3 needles, but didn't like the stitch definition. So, I'm using size 2 again. Now that I know what to look for in the pattern, I think this will be an enjoyable knit!

I'm continuing with my scrubby project, starting with Double Seed Stitch from Barbara G. Walker's A Treasury of Knitting Patterns. Don't tell anyone, but I accidentally knit the last row repeat three times instead of two. I'm pretty sure my grandchildren won't notice!

Today's Doodle Ice Drop is in size 20 Lizbeth #702, Coral Orange Medium. I love this little shuttle. I can't remember where it's from, but it's smooth and light. Don't you love a good shuttle?

  2. More and more great projects to see!! :)
I was just thinking that if the grandkids didn't want the scrubby squares, you could probably save a pile and turn them into a blanket(something like a knitted quilt of many different designs). ;)
Love the Coral Ice Drop!! :)

    1. I could, but I probably wouldn't. That would be a lot of joining, and I'm really pretty lazy! ;-)

  3. I like knitting a pattern a second time, like rereading a book, you have a slightly different perspective. That’s a lovely colour too. Enjoy!

    1. I haven't gotten very far, but I'm finding that it's much easier to understand what I should be doing. That makes it easier for me to avoid mistakes!

  4. Size 2?!?!!! Wow - that's tiny! I've knitted with 4 often, but a 2 is pushing it.

What kind of circular needles do you prefer?

    1. Size 2 needles are a breeze! It's kind of like tatting with finer thread... intimidating when you think about it, but not so bad when you actually experience it! I like my Clover bamboo needles the best. If I want something slick, I like ChiaoGoo and Addi Turbo, the first being much less expensive!

  5. That shuttle looks like one I picked up from Handy Hands. I have 2 actually....I liked the first one so much!
