Dave took me to the hospital Monday afternoon. I have a burst appendix. The inflammation is too great for them to do surgery right now, so I'm on antibiotics and pain killers for two weeks when I go back for an evaluation. It may take four to six weeks for the surgery to take place.
I'm not sure how much I'll be up to doing. If I do manage to tat anything, I'll be sure to let you know!
OH MY GOODNESS! Thankfully you are still with us!!! Prayers, love, hugs, good wishes and kind thoughts for you! Please, if there’s anything at all I can do, let me know!
ReplyDeleteLots of R&R is what the doctor prescribed. The easier I take it, the faster I'll heal. The goal is to do laparoscopic surgery, but if things go south I'll have to have major surgery involving the colon and small intestine. I think I'll follow the doctor's orders!
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear this. Praying that surgery can happen soon, and that you have a quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteThe doctor said it will take a minimum of two weeks for the antibiotic and pain killers to do their job. I'm not pushing it!
DeleteI hope everything goes well and you have a quick recovery 💙💙💙💙
ReplyDeleteSending you best wishes and happy thoughts 💕💕💕
Thank you, muskaan! I'm hoping to have enough energy to do some little things. Taking a shower this morning wiped me out!
DeleteThis is a shock! I've never heard of such a thing! Please take the utmost care. You seem to be in good spirits. Please let us know now and then how you're doing. Sending prayers and best wishes.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of appendicitis being approached this way either, but the doctor's explanation made a lot of sense, and I'm hoping for the minimally invasive approach.
DeleteOh Diane! How awful for you! Sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am feeling a little better every day. The doctor said I won't really start feeling better until he gets the appendix out. He said I should feel much better after that.
DeleteOh no, so sorry to hear that! Wishing you a speedy recovery. Thanks for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jane! It's nice to know that I have friends around the world thinking of me.
DeleteSome people will do anything to get time off work but I know you’re not that sort of ‘someone’ as you love your job. I hope it all goes well and will meanwhile look forward to seeing your cheery self back on the blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane! I'm really hoping I'll get my energy back soon. I'm not a go-getter, but I can't stand sitting around doing nothing. Right now I'm look at the shuttle and thread sitting nest to me and thinking they look way too heavy to pick up. Maybe I'll have more energy after breakfast.
DeleteHoping you get well soon. I have something for you. Not telling yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tim! I should do fine as long as I follow the doctor's orders. Oh, my! Now you've got me thinking! I love surprises!
DeleteI will be praying for you!!!
ReplyDeleteI had a ruptured appendix at 7yrs. old, so I know you will be down for quite some time!!
Thanks, Sue! I can't believe how tired I am!
DeleteOh no! Hopefully the antibiotics don’t take too long to work and you are able to get the surgery soon. Get a lot of rest and I hope you start feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Robin!
DeleteOh No! So sorry to hear this! Hope you get better soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa!
DeleteI am so sorry to hear this. Sending healing prayers to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cynthia!
DeleteOh noes! I hope you're able to get the surgery you need soon. Rest well my friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am getting tired of feeling tired!
DeleteOuch! That's not fun. Good thing you got it checked out. Thinking of you and looking forward to your posts when you are doing better.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vicky!
DeleteWow. Usually a burst appendix give you some warning. I'm guessing that didn't happen for you. So sorry! Sending you hugs, prayers and warm fuzzies. Speedy healing!
ReplyDeleteThe doctor thinks my warning signs started in July, but since there was no pain, I just thought I was sick. Thanks for the well wishes.
DeleteOh my! Hope you are feeling better very soon! ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marilee!
DeleteOh no! I hope the two weeks pass without (too much) pain and the surgery goes well.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The pain is under control. I'm also hoping the two weeks will pass quickly!
DeleteWow, this is awful news indeed! I hope you are feeling much better very soon and that the surgery can be scheduled as quickly as possible. Hoping that all goes well and you will be back to feeling like yourself in almost no time at all. Meanwhile, please rest and work on getting better. Will pray for you.

Thank you, Stephanie. I go for a re-evaluation in a week and a half. They'll determine the next steps then.
DeleteOh, I am so sorry to hear this. Do follow doctor’s orders! After your rest and recovery you’ll feel more like yourself. Prayers for healing and patience.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Thank you, Cindy. I've been doing lots of resting. I foolishly thought I'd be back to school this week. I don't have enough energy to walk from one side of the house to the other! Maybe next week...
DeleteI hope your evaluation is going well and surgery has been scheduled in a relaxed, routine way. In my book, surgery should never be "routine" and never emergency. I've added you to the prayers for recovery list as I know you and the doctors got this!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your burst appendix - something I never heard of before. I've added you to the prayer list.
ReplyDeleteI go back for a follow up in a week. I hope the inflammation has cooled down enough for them to schedule surgery.
DeleteOh nooo! So sorry to hear that Diane! It sounds awful. Take great care of yourself and I hope you're back to feeling good as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember ever feeling this tired. It must be the medication. As a result, I spend most of my day taking little naps and sometimes watching a little t.v. Thanks for the well wishes!
DeleteHi Diane
