2 + 2 = loads of tatting fun!

Today was a total tatting day. I haven't had one of those in quite a while!

I'm on a roll with Laura Blanton's Coronavirus Button Cross.

And, it feels good to be tatting Ice Drops again.

I enjoyed the first cross so much, I decided to tat another.

The same thing happened with the Ice Drop. Mom asked what I'll be doing with these. I have a feeling they'll end up as Christmas presents!

  2. Oh yes, Christmas on the horizon, you’ll be all set with homes for these. Question for the librarian, can the button cross be used as a bookmark? Is it ok to close a button in a book?

    1. I would not use it as a bookmark because of the thickness of the button and the thickness of the thread. I'm actually not really fond of size 20 thread for bookmarks. I prefer size 80. However, I've given away many bookmarks tatted in size 20 and the recipients have loved them. I guess it all depends on how fussy you are about your books!

    2. Ah, thanks. I’ve used bookmarks in size 20, but I don’t think I’d put a button in a book.

  3. You do love to 'tat on the roll' don't you, Diane? Must admit I'm the same. Once I find something I really want to make I have to make, make, make!!!

    1. Haha! It makes it so much easier to keep tatting! I can spend time staring at patterns, but I'd much rather play with my shuttles and thread!
