Sometimes they happen over and over and over again, and that's what happened today! After successfully completing the first pattern repeat, I made a mistake on the first row of the second repeat. I know I un-knit and re-knit that row at least four times before getting it right. Just think, I could have been halfway through the second pattern repeat if I hadn't kept making mistakes!
My head's kind of spinning ! Delighted to see you're back in form with posting often and working on projects, plus back to work in this crazy time! First, I'm assuming you're out of the woods and there is no need for surgery? I've read more about the new amazing methods of treating appendicitis. Second, I can't believe the complexity of that shawl and how fast your mom completed hers! Third, I'm delighted you can concentrate on that pattern. Is this a Russian pattern? I haven't been keeping up with knitting trends!
ReplyDeleteI'm better, but I'm not out of the woods yet. Surgery is scheduled for October 21. I need to lay low until then... be careful with my diet, no lifting, little housework... I could have another appendicitis attack, which would not be good. Mom and I have barely begun on the shawls! Mom is close to finishing the first of four borders. I have quite a way to go. Once the four borders are finished, we will move on to the center of the shawl. It will be quite large! Yes, the pattern is Russian, and with the way it's broken down, it's really easy to follow. It just takes concentration, something that is hard to come by for me these days!
DeleteThanks for the reply! You are handling this so well and keeping your spirits up. I know you will be super careful.
DeleteI waa not aware how large the shawl will be. It's just gorgeous so far! I'm also finding some sites about its Russian origins. I truly was not aware of this in all my years of knitting! All good wishes to you and your Mom! You are both amazing!
Ah well, as long as you get it right before you move on it’s all good.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly how I feel, Jane!
DeleteIt still looks beautiful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you still have something you can do!!! :)
Thanks, Sue!
DeleteIt looks beautiful pity about the mistake but at least you found it before you had knitted too much. Beautiful colour
