I've just reached the halfway point on round VI of Doily VI from Tatted Treasures by Jan Stawasz. As I was tatting the last ring, I realized that I made a mistake on one small part. I don't think anyone will notice, so I'm just going to leave it. However, if you choose to look closely and figure out my mistake, I will gladly admit it to you!
I had to place an order for more thread today. I wound my shuttles with the last of my Latte Foam this morning, and I know there isn't enough to finish this doily. After all, I still have 2 1/2 rounds to go! Denise and I made a trip to Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately, they did not have this color. That didn't stop either one of us from shopping! Denise found several threads that she "needed" to add to her stash. We both bought wooden eggs to decorate. We found some findings in the clearance section, and we each found some fabric we just had to have! When we got back to Denise's, her husband Warren had gone to the bakery and bought pastries for us... coffee and pastry... yum!
looks very good Diane.
ReplyDeleteAh, more thread, can't order only the one ball, must have more to justify the shipping, right?
I hope you can find the matching thread, though the doily looks as though it is 'complete' after every round and you could just stop!
ReplyDeleteI love that color and pattern. You don't really see doilies with spaces like that. That "mistake" must truly be invisible or maybe I'm just not the best at seeking games. Looks good to me!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new coming granddaughter!
:)
Your doily is coming along great, I was told if you made a mistake or variation then it's unique to you and no one else would have one like it. I am not going to look closely I am admiring the beauty of it. It looks I am going to have the same trouble as you as my thread on my tat along mat is running low. Yes I am back to it at last.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how crafters go into the shops for one item and end up with something we were going thinking of buying.

Your doily looks wonderful. It looks so good that I got out my book and have been thinking of tatting one for myself.

Love that latte thread, and your doily is looking so good! I don't look for errors--I just enjoy the beauty of the hand-made.
ReplyDeleteGoodness - only ONE mistake in that big Jan Stawasz pattern? That is incredible! And it looks fantastic. This is going to be a real keeper.
