Waste not, want not

My dish cloths are looking really dingy, so today was a knit day. Unfortunately, I did not have enough of this oatmeal colored yarn to finish the dish cloth, but since it's for me, I'm fine with a blob of color in one corner.

I decided to try a new pattern today. This is the Almost Lost Washcloth Pattern. It was a fun knit, and I think I'll probably make it again.

My button journey continues.

I'm hoping to finish up Rita's buttons by the time school is out.

I've enjoyed working on them, but I'm ready to do some of my own!

  1. I've looked back over your blog and cannot find the answer - what on earth are those flower buttons for?

    1. I saw them on hair bands and she sells them fast!

    2. I also attach them to hair clips, and I sell them individually. I've thought of decorating t-shirts and note cards with them. Rita decorates baseball caps and elaborate brooches.

That almost lost reminds me of a spinning wheel by MK!

    1. I love knit dishcloths. They have nice body, and they give me a reason to knit! I've tried knitting sweaters, but I just can't seem to get the size right, so shawls and dishcloths work for me!

  4. Like Michelle, I thought the almost lost is a knitted version of the spinningwheel mat! I like the bit of colour on the square one too.

    1. Thank you! I've never shied away from combining colors on dishcloths. They still work, so why waste the yarn?

  5. I like the Almost Lost dishcloth.
As soon as I saw it, I thought, you must really like the Spinning Wheel doily that you even had it knitted.

I'm inspired to knit this pattern in knitting thread (something I've been meaning to try for a few years) as a coaster.
