No, I think not. However, I am looking at my lace very carefully after every pattern repeat, and I'm double checking after every three or four. I'm also steaming after every three or four pattern repeats.
I'm pretty pleased with the progress I made today. I'm noticing the way the pattern flows better this time around. I'm pretty sure this is the row that gave me so much trouble back when I stopped calling it the Monster Doily and started calling it the Masterpiece.
It really wasn't difficult to snip off the lace at row 7. I have it set aside, and I will use it for something else, I just not sure what just yet. Luckily, I chose to buy a cone of thread to use on this doily, so I know I have plenty!

I missed yesterday's post and comments, so I thought I was in the Twilight Zone here! I had to read this three times to comprehend why the doily looked different! I didn't remember that it looked like this 'back when'. (And those 'points' totally disappear!) I finally read the prior post and kind of 'froze'. It dawned on me that you had to cut out all those medallions! I was in disbelief!
ReplyDeleteObviously you have overcome the disappointment and are looking at it philosophically, which is so inspiring. I'm very glad you are forging ahead! We're all rooting for you!
This doily is also looking lovely and will be a true masterpiece

Bravo! Truly impressive how you have done the snipping and carried on.
ReplyDeleteOh....tatting frustrations!! I am sure you will do wonderfully!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhew! I hope it's smooth sailing from here!
ReplyDeleteDiane Dear you are very strong and clever and I know you will not give up on this amazing work of art you are tatting. Reminds me of the old adage..."measure twice, cut once" which is what I do a lot when sewing. We only make the same mistake once...thank goodness! Blessings Dear...
