I'm moving around row 13 of my Jan Stawasz Masterpiece slowly but surely. There's something special about making lace. I feel a connection with others who enjoy making beautiful things, even if the lace seems to have no purpose other than to look pretty. Sometimes we just need something really pretty to brighten our days, and this doily sure has been making me feel happy!
I heartily agree! I love that connection but I only really feel it when making something bigger, snowflakes -my current work, don't give the same feelings no.

DeleteSie haben recht! Es macht glücklich So eine wundervolle Spitzenarbeit, mit Eigenen Händen Erscheinungs anzufertigen.
ReplyDeleteAgreed on the connection - so true! Your JS is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI agree like the others and you are moving fast in my opinion. This is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
ReplyDeleteA stunning work of "heart" and art!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about feeling a connection. We are connected to other tatters, and also to those tatters who made/designed the pattern were are tatting. The connection is even there with those tatters/designers who were around long before we were born when we are tatting a 'vintage' pattern.
ReplyDeleteWhy else do we make lace? I always tell my students to stop and admire their work as they go along, to enjoy the beauty that's being created. I've had people ask what I'm doing it for - most of the time just because I enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteRight on! : )
