Then there were three...

I finished two more Bell Flowers (Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konior), one in solid pink, one in variegated pink. I wish I had ordered a deeper pink for the solid, but obviously I didn't. I haven't decided what I want to do with them, so for now they're residing in my curio cabinet. The pinks are size 20 Flora.

  1. I love these! I am so jealous! You have done a beautiful job. Like you, I have so many things I want to do and you are adding to them. So much tatting, and so little time!

  3. Hi Dianne,

Currently I'm making tatted flowers too... I wanna ask you... How do you control the yarn from twisting? Should I pull them tight.. If i pull the yarn too tight, it will twist.. and very difficult for me to control... Please advise...

  4. Thank you for the compliments everyone! These flowers were really pretty simple to make. I just followed the pattern!

Jullie, I'm not sure how to advise you. It took me quite a while to get my tatting consistent. I still sometimes have stitiches that are too tight or too loose. When my thread starts to twist, I drop my shuttle and let the thread untwist. I didn't have to do any gathering to make the bell flower. It has more to do with the way the pattern was designed. I didn't realize I would have a cup shaped piece until I got to the end of the pattern. I was expecting a flat motif! Does anyone else have advice for Jullie?

  6. Hi Dianne,

Thanks for your advise... It helps... I've found the reason why it twisted. That's because, I read the pattern wrongly!! :oP

Been practicing and hope I can share with all of you my creations soon...
