First dropout?

I'm home recovering from a nasty stomach bug (slept for 30 hours!), so I thought I'd give Jane's T.I.A.S. a go. For almost two hours I've been trying to tat a split ring. I did manage one, but I forgot the picot. Maybe I should wait until I'm full recovered. : (

  2. You take care of yourself. You can start the TIAS at any time. Just avoid the TIAS blog until you catch up - links are on my regular blog too!!

  3. OH I REMEMBER how I struggled with SR's And I'd look at my book, "The JJOY of Split Rings" and think; honestly, You have GOT to be kidding. But then the coin dropped and they became fun.

I'm trying to decipher the technique presented in the T.I.A and got hung up on the sentance that says, "BOTH THREADS" Was trying to figure out is JE meant the one added plus the tail of the core thread; or the one added and the core thread ~ cause I was seeing 3 threads. aghhhhh
So I did it and the ds would no longer slide along the core thread. Back to square one.

So I can not imagine trying to do this and learn SR, too when you feel lousy! Hangeth in there...if you will, I will. LOL hugs and prayers for a soothed tummy. B.

  4. I'm sorry you have been sick. That kind of bug is the WORST. I hope that you feel better today.

Have you tried following Jon's split ring tutorial? For some reason, holding my hand like a dead spider makes me remember that I need to do those stitches differently. Her method has worked VERY well for me. Here is the link:

    Feel better,

  5. I should go back to the TIAS when you feel better. When I first looked at your picture I thought it was a cartoon!
    Get better soon

  6. I hope you're feeling a bit better now.

I gave up on TIAS too. But now that I've seen other people's blog photographs I know what is expected of the pattern, so shall start again tonight.

  7. I know you already know how to do a split ring. You just need to work on something simpler til you're back up to speed. I stayed home today also. Not stomach but feel like a cold punched me out. I've slept a lot too.

  11. Well, ick! At least you're home, nothing worse than being sick away from home. Get some rest. I see from your later post that the split rings are a success. Hooray for you!
