Is it possible that some colors of threads are smoother than others? I think so. This Ocean Blue was so silky smooth, I know I'll use it again. It didn't kink at all, and some of the colors have. I love this little shuttle from LaCossette, Robin and Friend.

What a gorgeous color!!! (blue is my favorite color too)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always. That is a gorgeous shuttle!!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful tatting - lovely blue. wow - I think it is my fav!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces of tatting, lovely colour
ReplyDeleteSometimes dyes really affect the thread. In the Lizbeth thread I often find the darker pinks/fuchsias to be difficult and they feel coarser...

It is a lovely color. I, too, have found some colors seem to work up better than others. The shuttle is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the shuttle! Nice blue colour!
ReplyDeleteYou mean it's not just me with the colors? I thought I had bad purple mojo so it just wouldn't work for me, but I even notice with variegated threads that, sometimes, the thread is smooth and then I hit a certain color and it's horrible ... and it'll happen over and over again!
ReplyDeleteThankfully, I haven't had that many problems with blue threads, so I can keep tatting. :-) I mean, really, if there's something that doesn't look good in blue then it doesn't need to exist. :-D

Well, it just had to be blue, didn't it? lol It's gorgeous! Stumpy never looked better.
ReplyDeleteLovely colour, I agree that different dyes affect the way the cotton is tatted, sometimes smooth and sometimes not, but in all I love the Dyed Sulky threads

The shuttle is so pretty! Ive been admiring the baby robbins outside my window, so it appeals to me particulary.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the dye issue and thread coarseness is more of an issue with commercial dyes. I haven't noticed any difference between my dyes. I will be paying closer attention now though.
Your tatting is just so beautiful and even. You must be able to tat these motifs in your sleep by now. Weekend Bliss...
