I guess it's time to clean up the photos on my phone, because I seem to be missing some very special ones.
Kayla in 4th grade has been teaching me how to make friendship bracelets. She's been very encouraging, and she's a very patient teacher. I know we took a picture of my bracelet to put on the blog, but I can't find it on my phone or on my computer. It's lost in space!
Yesterday, 2nd grader Atalissa came in to show me her third 6" piece of chain. She's trying very hard to achieve Fancy Pants, but is still tatting Josephine chain. She's not one to give up, but again, the picture of her progress is missing.
I'll try to remember to take new pictures today.
In the meantime, I've been decorating more shuttles for the kids. I used paper napkins for this batch. They're so cheerful!
I'm very excited about the newest addition to my little creative heaven, my Saori loom! Mom is an avid weaver, and I love all of the beautiful pieces she has created. Now I get to learn! The set-up is going very slowly, because I have never set up a floor loom before. I read each step at least 14 times, because I don't want to mess up! Mom and I plan to have lots of fun when she comes to visit in June!

Those shuttles look so fun!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you make on your loom!! :)
Wow. Awesome looking shuttles! What kind of shuttles did you use??
ReplyDeleteSuch bright shuttles would encourage anyone to tat! I look forward to seeing what comes off the loom.
ReplyDeleteO jaka piękna kolekcja czółenek.
ReplyDeleteThat used to be my favourite part of my spinning/weaving course at teacher training college. The setting up of the loom. All those sheds and all that thread. Seventh heaven. The actual weaving was almost a disappointment!!!!
ReplyDeleteShuttles look great too.
You must be feeling better! You have so many things going on! I can't imagine having to put a loom together; then there seems to be so much work to set it up, which is why I've never tried it! Your summer is already planned!

ReplyDeleteIt's great to be able to do creative work with your mum. When I visit my mom, at the seashore where she lives, I teach her some bobbin lace, then we go for a walk, and she teaches me about birds. It feel so completely happy in those moments, like in my childhood!
Wow!!! I don't know where you get the time and energy for all your projects!! Good for you!

I hope you find your missing photos. I truly admire the spunk of the kids learning to tat. And now look at you with that floor loom to weave with. Amazing talents you have...
ReplyDeleteNice shuttles! The youngsters will be pleased. I've always wanted to learn how to weave on a loom, and I look forward to some woven eye candy!
ReplyDeleteHow Exciting!!! And June is right around the corner.
