I finished round 7! The doily is now 17" across, the largest piece I've ever tatted.
Here it is on the dining room table, with lots of glare from the chandelier.
There's a little less glare with the table pad.
Now for the decision... do I stop here or go on? I can't help but wonder how I will manage to block this if I make it through 18 rounds, and then there's the question of where I'll use it. It is pretty as it is, but I'm kind of looking forward to seeing how large this will be. I think I'll go on!
It looks so awesome and will look totally amazing when completely completed I am sure!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful Diane! I was thinking the same thing with mine (stopping and making a matching one for a night stands) It is very big but will be cool to see it through:)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great so far. I was thinking you should go on, too. You could always mount it and put it on the wall... :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's very beautiful! Wow!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Keep going . . .
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! If you are taking votes, I vote for you to go on to finish through all 18 rounds. I am very curious to see how big it will be when finished.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you decided to go on. You make such lovely lace.
ReplyDeleteThe doily looks amazing as it is! I'm sure there is always a good use for a giant doily, maybe as a holiday tablecloth.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful pattern, you could even have stopped with the flowers, first you should be happy tatting it, have fun! :)
ReplyDeleteDie Decke sieht in dieser Größe schon wunderschön aus, aber bitte weitermachen! Es wird eine sehr kostbare Spitze sein!
ReplyDeleteA milestone, well done. I hope you'll carry on, you've gone quickly so far.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking gorgeous if you stop now you will always wonder how big it might be and you may even decide in years to come why did you not finish it, so please carry on, if only to quell your if only in the future

ReplyDeleteWow, thet is wonderful! Please, go on, it will be your masterpiece!
It's already gorgeous! Can't imagine how it will look with more rows, so I'll be back to see.
ReplyDeleteYou can use it as a table topper. But that is massive - 18 rounds. Can't imagine what will be the final measurement.
