I forgot to blog last night. No, it's not necessary for me to blog every day, but I do find that blogging helps keep me inspired to learn new things!
I spent a lot of time reading about card weaving yesterday. It's a fascinating subject!
I also spent several hours cleaning and organizing, looking for my stash of Yarnplayer threads. Mistene is looking for size 20 Sugar Maple to finish a doily she's working on. I'm sure I have some, but I haven't yet found the really safe place I stored it! If you have some, Mistene would love to either purchase it from you or make a trade. Do you know where your stash is?
When doing chores, I always give myself little craft breaks. Doesn't everyone? It doesn't look it on my monitor, but this Baltic band is a very pretty green and purple. The pattern is from The Weaver's Inkle Pattern Directory by Anne Dixon. I used perle cotton, which makes a beautiful band!
With all the cleaning and reading yesterday, I only managed to finish one Ice Drop. One is better than none!

How common is that ! We think of storing something in a "safe" place, but then just cannot remember where that safe place is. Glad to know I'm not the only one ;-P
ReplyDeleteLovely weaving and tatting.
Fantastic band! Green and purple is by far my favourite combo :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, I used all my stash of Sugar Maple :( I know where my thread stash is because it's quite manageable, but I also crochet and knit (more than 40 years of it) and my yarn stash is completely out of control, everywhere in the house! :D
Yes, I like to blog regularly too to keep myself on track. And your track is looking fantastic! I took a book out of the library on card weaving, many years ago. It was very interesting, but I never actually tried it.
ReplyDeleteAnother great band!!! :) I love all the different designs in the weaving!!
ReplyDeleteAnd another great Ice Drop!! Yep, you are crowned Ice Drop Queen!!! :)
I haven't posted for two years! Cant really explain it! I'm always reading the blogs and commenting, though. Tatting is really a big part of my life, and I still continue to attend our tatting events with the group. But sadly, I'm not actually doing much tatting these days.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I totally missed several of your blog posts, especially your Blogaversary! Wow - 10 years already! And Happy Birthday, too! A successful 1st year of retirement - although you're at the school a lot! Not as much 'work' though, so you can really enjoy your time with the kids.
Your Mom and I both like red. Those are beautiful shuttles you ordered (red and blue). Plus I also have a cardinal collection!
You're definitely making good use of your time! And your Ice Drops are now part of the Tatting World! Glad you had such a great visit with your family.
