I meant to tat...

but somehow I never got around to it.

I started the day by making these two headbands for my nephew's daughter. I love the colors! Then I was off to run errands, which took all morning.

I really needed to go grocery shopping after lunch, and by the time I was finished with all my errands it was 3:30. How does time go so quickly?

The kids at school have been asking for more decorated shuttles, so I got to work. The front side is finished. Tomorrow I'll finish the back side.

In between coats of Mod Podge, I managed to finish some more headbands. So, even though I didn't do any tatting, I feel like I accomplished a lot. Besides, as Scarlet O'Hara would say, tomorrow is another day!

and two more makes...

23 pattern repeats!

I know this round seems to be taking forever, but I really don't mind. I just keep thinking about how beautiful the finished piece will be!

I'm really enjoying making these headbands. Luckily, I have four granddaughters who just might be interested in having headbands to go with every outfit!

Why blog?

I blog to keep myself motivated. I've found that since I started blogging, I've accomplished much more than I used to. I also blog to keep a record of my accomplishments. It's easy to forget what has been made, especially since I give so much of my handwork as gifts. As a bonus, I receive comments from readers around the world. Knowing that there are others who enjoy connecting through technology just makes the whole blogging experience even more fun!

So what did I accomplish today?

I started my day off right by tatting two pattern repeats on the Jan Stawasz Masterpiece. Have I mentioned how much I'm enjoying this pattern? ;-)

I decided to work on a few more headbands after school. These bright colors sure are popular among the kids!

Now I'm tired, so I think I'll turn in early... or maybe I'll do just a little more!

Lovin' this doily!

I think I'm at the halfway point of this round, and I am loving every moment of tatting! Need I say more?

The best laid plans...

I had my day planned out...

  • Work on headbands until 9 a.m. - check
  • Wash sheets and make beds - check
  • Clean kitchen - check

  • Work on Renulek doily until lunch time - check
  • Go looking at cars - check
Dave called right around lunch time to tell me he was ready to go looking at cars. Looking at cars takes an awfully long time, but we hardly ever get to do anything fun together, and looking at cars can be lots of fun... especially when you come home with one!

Now I'm exhausted, and the bed is looking awfully good. Good night, all!

Multi-tasking

I had a hard time focusing on one thing today, so it's a good thing I have several projects to keep me going!

I got a good start on round 6 of Renulek's Spring Doily today. This is the first time I've tatted a doily in multiple colors, and I really like the way it's turning out.

I'm not quite at the halfway point of the Jan Stawasz Masterpiece, but since I'm making good progress, I'm sure not going to complain!

I had several people call me today, and I find that crocheting button flowers and attaching them to headbands is something I can easily accomplish while talking on the phone.

I finished my scarf today. The color doesn't show up well, again because it's night time. I'll take a better picture tomorrow once this is dried and pressed. I didn't think I had enough warp left to finish a scarf, so this was a pleasant surprise. To make it even better, it looks like I have enough warp left to make either another scarf or a table runner. The big question will be which yarn(s) to use!
