Tatting "Beatrice" - Day 4
I'm finding that setting aside time to work on Beatrice each evening is helping me accomplish much more than I thought possible! At work I'm very goal oriented, but at home I'm very laid back. If something gets finished... great! If not... tomorrow is another day. I've only been setting aside an hour a day, but I wind up tatting for more than an hour. I just want to complete one more set of rings or another section of chains!

This doily gets more beautiful with each section you tat. I can see why it is your favorite.
ReplyDeleteLater this week I am going to a lace shop and looking for the book, "Tatted Doilies" by Iris Niebach so I can try tatting Beatrice too. :-)
Cross your fingers that Lacy Susan has it in stock.
Hi Diane! This is coming out just beautiful! All the work that goes into tatting, with all those teeny tiny "stitches" for lack of the proper word, is just amazing! I can't wait to see this finished! Your work is always beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Paulette =D
Diane, your stitches are so perfectly done. This is going to be a beautiful piece!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to stop with just one more chain beckoning!
Fox : )
There used to be a time when people thought I was a prolific tatter but it was only because I did tat every day. It's usually that last hour before I go to bed but sometimes I start earlier or I tat during my lunch hour. And some days I don't tat at all, but most of the time I do. That really is the key to big projects - little consistent bits at a time. You say you are more relaxed about it at home, but I can see a deliberate methodology going on there. You got habits ingrained! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with Gina about that whole consistency. One can accomplish a great deal in just even 15 minutes a day! (tatting usually takes more than fifteen minutes because it's easy to lose track of time while tatting, LOL!- at least for me it is.)
ReplyDeleteI am so far behind reading your blog. When I saw the doiley it just shouted Raspberry Sorbet at me....it's going to be truly scrumptious and one of my favourite patterns.
ReplyDeleteLittle by little and you get there.
Your work is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful blog too.
