No, but I LOVE blue! It's my favorite color! this week I worked on "Glass Mat Adapted by Kendra Goodnow from Semco Book," which can be found in the Winter 2011 issue of Helping Hands Newsletter from Handy Hands. Last weekend my friend Denise stopped by with a surprise for me... fabric for decoupaging shuttles and a ball of size 20 Lizbeth, color #149, Peacock Blues. Isn't it gorgeous? Denise ordered it for herself, but when she saw it she decided I just had to have it. Thank you, Denise!
I think the Handy Hands newsletter is a great value. It costs $5 per year. There's always a coupon included, and there are always wonderful patterns.
I'll be honest, though. This is actually the first pattern I've tatted from one of the newsletters. I think I just have too many patterns to choose from!
I think this 8" doily is perfect for the pretty little glass basket Dave and I received for Christmas from our friends Gus and Irene. Now to find the right table for displaying it!
P.S. ~ the shuttle is one of Chris Hinton's beautiful works of art!
Wow pretty. I really like that blue. Hmm I need more thread like I need a whole in the head. Oh well we will see.
ReplyDeletelove it.
ReplyDeletePretty! And quite large - you have been busy!

Just LOVELY, Diane! It looks so pretty with your crystal basket. Will you be putting flowers in the basket come spring or pretty little Easter eggs?

I love blues, also Especially the jeweled blues ~ not so much pastel. Since I was a blonde child, my mother dressed me in pastel blues and I really came to not like blue at all. Then, when I took a color theory class, I fell in love with jewel-like colors; including the blues. In turquoise there are many shades of blue and my favorite is Bisbee Blue turquoise (hard to find now days). This is a lovely windmill...mine is on my bedside table and Pippa (unless it has a cup sitting on it) thinks it is something for her to play with ~ of course, she thinks EVERYTHING is for a kitty’s pleasure. hugs, bev
ReplyDeleteBlue is my favorite also - that thread is really pretty, as is the doily! I love all the patterns in the HH Newsletter but I tend to forget I have them. I might have to try this one too :)
ReplyDeleteBlue is my favorite color and I love that beautiful doily! :)
ReplyDeleteAzul es mi color favorito y tambien el amarillo.Te quedó un precioso trabajo.Besos.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great colour! Love the blue, and your doily, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing Peacock Blues to such spectacular effect. Your glass mat is so beautiful it should be considered for a ribbon or medal. Can't wait to see more of your lovely lace made in these bold blues.
ReplyDeleteOh, you would have to do this to me....I love blue, it's my favorite color too. But, my problem is I quit getting the HH newsletter and I don't think I have this issue. I have been getting them for a few years and never did anything with them (except look at them and enjoy them.) I thought it would be one thing I could stop...I think you have made me rethink this...I love this mat....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!1
ReplyDeleteThis blue is beautiful. Blues are my favorite colors also. Your tatting is so gorgeous. Happy tatting...
ReplyDeleteToo Cool!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you - the Handy Hands newsletters are fantastic!
I've tatted a couple items from them... now I'll be searching for the one you just made
Wow!!! Looks like ice.. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful great job!!
You do such lovely work, Diane....I love it and it still shines under the beautiful glass basket.
