I participate in the One Snowflake A Month Challenge at The Tatting Forums, and I've been feeling the end of April closing in quickly! This is Motif #7 from DMC Tatting for Today. The thread is size 20 Lizbeth, color #662.
I'd be willing to bet that the casual observer would never notice that I missed a join, which I didn't discover until I had finished hiding my ends. Rather than scrap the whole piece, I took a piece of thread, joined the two picots, and sewed the ends in. I'm sure there's someone out there in Tat-land who can find where I did this, but my solution was good enough for me!
And now, back to my hanky edging!
What a lovely color for a snowflake! It's very nice design.
ReplyDeleteLooks great to me! And at least it's not like the snowflakes we had here the other day(in the middle of April). :)
ReplyDeleteAaaaaaaaggggghhhhh - more snow!
ReplyDeleteYours is so much prettier than the white stuff that we keep getting. Fortunately, it melts fast in April :)
I would never know where you missed a join - I'm glad I'm not the only one . . .
Oh yes, the little sew-it-in-after- the-fact trick! I know it well!
ReplyDeleteGreat blue! Nice pattern.
Fox : )
wow! you hid it well --- and your snowflake is very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI was tatting until 3am and managed three small snowflakes.
Looks good from here! I've used that trick myself "a few" times. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour snowflake is very pretty! I love the color you used!
ReplyDeleteLovely !
ReplyDeleteMaybe if I held it under magnification. :-) It looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteNice job, Diane! I'm forever sewing picots together like that because of missed joins. It's not even visible. Love that blue, too!
ReplyDeleteHow's the weather there? We still can't get out of the low 40s and snow over here. Yeah, I said snow. Two inches of the white stuff this past Monday! Grrrr...come on, Spring!
Lovely in blue, Diane! I think probably every tatter has used that 'trick'. I know I have,...many times.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter
well i am pretty sure that is the way the women in the old days use to do it...so look at it as replicating the past...or actual reenactment...lol
ReplyDeleteAgain can't keep up with you! Your handerchief is just beautiful - perfect matching colors and lovely pattern.
ReplyDeleteAnd this snowflake is very attractive. Looks just fine to me! I really like that pattern and the color.
Lovely!! I want to make one too!!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I can't find the mistake, I think you are bragging a bit about your ends-hiding ability ;-) Seriously, the solutions is good enough for me!
ReplyDeleteLooks perfect to me!
ReplyDeleteThis snowflake is beautiful and very appropriate for our cold and rainy weather we are still having. Happy Easter to you...
ReplyDeleteI sure cannot see anything other than perfect!
ReplyDeleteI somehow missed this post and just know saw it. How careless of me. :-P
ReplyDeleteThe snowflake looks great to me! And I love the color - a very lovely shade oh blue. :-)
Happy Easter, by the way. ;-)
