Another shuttle giveaway, that is! The winner may choose one of these three shuttles. Denise and I will each keep one of the other two. I meant to post this on International Tatting Day, but somehow the day got away from me, and yesterday I was off to the Sewing and Quilting Expo... what fun!
I'll draw the winner's name sometime during the week. Just leave a comment on this post, and your name will be entered into the drawing!
I may have to re-think my packaging of giveaways. Look what happened to Marie's package...
My friend Chris at the post office and I think that someone tried to run it through a machine. Obviously, the thickness of the package was not a concern! Luckily, I had an envelope with Marie's name inside the package. Otherwise, I'd never have remembered who I was mailing it to. Marie's package is safely on its way again... in a box!
Friday morning I finished this lovely lace bookmark:
The pattern is from Emsyjane, simple and easy to follow. My tassel is about half the thickness that the pattern calls for. I have a terrible time with tassels, and I just couldn't make it look as pretty as the pattern picture. Of course I used one of my new Emsyjane shuttles! Oops... I forgot to take a picture of it. I guess you'll just have to go to the shop to see the little beauties that Emma has to offer! The thread is Hakelgarn Nr. 20. I love this thread!
I now have three hanky edgings in progress. I love having multiple projects. That way I can flit from one pretty pattern and thread to another! It does make it difficult to finish anything in a timely manner, though.
Next week... Lafayette Lace Days! I can hardly wait!
Trying to make tassels look the same as the photo is like trying to order from a picture menu at a restaurant. The item you get never looks the same as the photo. LOL
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in the drawing. I would love a shuttle.
It is always a great pleasure to come and see your blog.
ReplyDeleteHI I love your tatting thank!
ReplyDeleteOh my, it's a wonder the shuttle wasn't broken.
ReplyDeleteLovely bookmark in such a soft sunny yellow.
I'd love a chance at winning a shuttle made by you. Thanks for the chance.
Happy Tatting!
I'd love to enter the giveaway! - and the bookmark is lovely, unfortunately tonight my 11-yr-old computer just doesn't feel well enough to let me go to Etsy - I will try again tomorrow morning!
ReplyDeleteThe shuttles look so 'pretty in pink'. Looks like the mice have been at the package!!!!
ReplyDeletePlease count me in!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly
Hi diane!
ReplyDeleteYour bookmark looks lovely! That yellow is really pretty! Im so glad you like my bookmark pattern and thanks for blogging about it!
Your a star!
BIG HUGS!
Emsyjane
Very pretty bookmark.
ReplyDeleteI never make tassels, as they annoy me when I read a book.
I use Krystle's twisted cord technique - just two threads twisted together, and I like the effect. I find that the pattern really stands out when there is not a bunch of thread hanging thickly at the end. But that is just my opinion! (I DO put beads on bookmarks and many people do not like that!)
I don't think I have ever tried that thread, nor do I recall your having talked about it before. Maybe I have missed something?.
I must check it out.
Very nice bookmark and please enter me in the contest. Thank you.Clyde
ReplyDeleteDiane, you BLING such pretty shuttles! It would be an honor to own one.
ReplyDeleteThe P.O. certainly did make a mess of my package. I'll let you know when the new one arrives.
It amazes me how you get so much tatting done with working at school and all. You use your time very wisely.
Bookmark turned out beautifully, love the color.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance for shuttle.
Hi Diane,
ReplyDeleteI love your hanky edging! That watermelon colour is PERFECT for your hanky. And I really like M.K.'s simple but effective edging... might have to give that one a try next!

ReplyDeleteY debo decir que tu marcador es Hermoso, pero al igual que Fox yo prefiero sin borlas, me gustan más con cordón.
