Yes. Sadly, I am out of pink shuttles. I can't find a single undecorated pink shuttle in my house. So, I had to settle for purple...
...to make my new shuttle and bag sets!
What do you think? Is it overkill?
I had so much fun making bags with matching shuttles for Jane and Sue Anna, that I went back to Hobby Lobby for more pink and brown fabric. Wouldn't you know... the fabric I used before wasn't there, but I did find these two fabrics, and I'm very pleased with the results. I even figured out some improvements for making the bags, like measuring carefully! : )
I ask you, dear readers... can a tatter have too many project bags or too many pretty shuttles?

Absolutly, not. We need every one...so many projects, so little time!
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate and pink together...as well as blue and chocolate, really. And, I usually am not a huge fan of pink...LOL
You lucky ducks getting together to talk tatting...sigh...there in spirit. hugs bev
Overkill?
ReplyDeleteIn a word: NO!
In more than one word: If chic females can have matching shoes/bags/accessories... why can't we tatters have matching shuttles/bags for ourselves!!?
I love the idea, Crafty-Diane!
lol
Oh wow! These are just too cool!
ReplyDeleteOverkill? No, but they could certainly get addictive!
Oh Diane I was just thinking today as I was shoveling gravel into the wheelbarrow that I must make a little bag like you made. Now I see your fabulous bag and shuttle sets and I am swooning. I m.u.s.t make these! Sunday Smiles...
ReplyDeleteNo i can never have to many bags or projects started to put in them!
ReplyDeleteOverkill? Never! The dorset bag is my absolute favorite for my tatting projects. One can never have too many projects . . . or bags . . . or shuttles . . .
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea :)
Not just tatters need bags. I'm going to make one for myself. Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question no! All designs, all colours and all sizes are really NEEDED!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate brown and pink together as you'll all find out in the fall - a secret at the moment, though.
I just love the bag (and contents) you gave me when we met and they'll be put to use as soon as I get home.
Absolutely not!!! These bags and matching shuttles are adorable!!! I love pink and chocolate brown together and purple is also very pretty! What a cute idea to make the matching shuttles too. Really when you think about it most of us tatters have more than one project going at the same time so why not a bag for each project ;P I could really go for this idea with such cute bags and shuttles one would just never be enough LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteNo you can't!
ReplyDeleteI so need a shuttle that matches my pocketty bag now...
No, never too many bags. No, not overkill and absolutely a necessity to have matching shuttle and bag. Great idea, Diane!!
ReplyDeleteDiane - would you mind if you share how you make those bags? I need to make one myself for an upcoming exchange. If its simple enough I will sign up. Thanks
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no, no! Never to many beautiful shuttles or bags. These are really gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteNo I dont think you can have too many shuttle and bags. Just love the Purple bag and shuttle!

ReplyDeleteoverkill?, no way!
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, a tatter can never have to many blinged shuttles or to many bags.
I like pink and brown together. Both are super cute.
Max, the tutorial I used for making the bag can be found here: http://quiltsalott.blogspot.com/2009/01/origami-pouch-tutorial.html
ReplyDeleteHave fun making your bag!
these are to die for... lol
ReplyDeletethe bag and shuttle are totally gorgeous! how can a tatter have too many of these?!
Overkill? No, no, NO! But I wonder...am I the only greedy Gretel who thinks one matching shuttle is not enough? Two matching shuttles for me (and then I can be baked into the greedy Gretel cookie I deserve to be, hee hee.)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not Diane & what a lovely colour choice.
ReplyDeleteOk, I am just cutting and pasting everyones comments here for my comment, starting with Bev's :D
ReplyDeleteThose are SOOOOOO cute and the matching shuttle just makes it that much better! I would love to have a cute little bag and a gorgeous matching shuttle!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely NOT overkill!
You are obviously having way to much fun!! What are you going to do when school starts? :)
ReplyDeleteWow those are snazzy! How very elegant to have a tatting shuttle that matches a tatting bag.
ReplyDeleteWow! Overkill? No way - those bag-and-shuttle sets are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute project!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone. Overkill, no, too many bags? No. Too many shuttles, No...Keep on pumping out those cute little things. These are great! I love everyone of them and want to do them too. Another thing to put on my long list! Thanks for sharing these cute things.
ReplyDeleteAre there ever enough?
ReplyDeleteWell with MY track record of bags and shuttles you already know the answer-the more the merrier!
ReplyDeleteLovely bag and shuttle! When ever do you find the time!
Too many projects? Never!
ReplyDeleteThough I am curious how you applied the fabric to the shuttle? I have a sizable fabric stash and I'd love to be able to try it out myself.
Andrea, I just added a page tab titled How to...
ReplyDeleteI hope you find my directions helpful. Decoromana has excellent directions for decorating with paper napkins.
