If you've been reading my blog for a while, you may remember that Dave bought this cabinet for me as a Christmas present. We had been window shopping at Hobby Lobby, and I said it would be great for shuttle storage, never dreaming that the dear man would buy it for me!
As you can see, there are quite a few drawers, and I'm still organizing them. To add to the fun, I've decided I will only show one drawer at a time. So, the shuttle count continues!
Here are some of my Aerlit shuttles. As you can see, I have one in a package and one out of a package except for the Mint Chocolate. That one is attached to a project somewhere really safe!
Today was the first dress rehearsal for Into the Woods. I took my sewing machine along, and it's a good thing I did. There were some more costumes to be hemmed, and two needed repairs. It was a long day, so I'm ready to kick up my feet and tat.
I loaded my beautiful butterfly shuttle from Shuttle by Design before leaving for play practice this morning. The thread is size 80 Lizbeth #707, Sky Blue Dark. This combo makes me smile!
You are ensuring that I don't forget my simple maths ;-P I have the latest total but won't reveal ....
ReplyDeleteButterfly in the sky - perfect combo !
Your retirement is making me exhausted! What is wonderful is that you are enjoying all this activity! You no longer have to worry about lesson plans, and you can enjoy seeing the kids, who themselves are having fun! (On your 'business card' you can add: "Have sewing machine, will travel!")
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you're secretly having fun getting organized. It's so much easier when you have containers tailor-made for the display and storage you need. However, you may need yet another one of these cabinets!
I love the butterfly shuttle! Of course, it's blue!
I love your shuttle and another gorgeous colour for a spinning wheel mat.
ReplyDeleteI think you should advertise have sewing machine can travel for sewing repairs on the run.
Retirement has not slowed you down.
Seeing more of your collection one shuttle at a time will be fun. Great idea. I recently tried the Aerlit and found the bobbin movement unbelievably stiff. Do you loosen it up somehow?
ReplyDeleteI love the cabinet and the shuttles so wonderful I am fighting the envy feeling :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see how your shuttle collection is displayed because I wondered! Beautifully, it turns out. Love the butterfly shuttle.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love that shuttle with the butterfly! You're so organized, your blog I think could be renamed the first online museum of tatting shuttles! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteI bet you are the tatting shuttle queen!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I can't wait to see that next glass mat!!! :)
